The Franconville**** International Show Jumping Competition:
6, 7, 8 June
The new recruits of the French team face up to
the world’s best riders

Today, the entries for the Franconville International Show Jumping Competition (CSI****) which
will take place in the Val-d’Oise department, in the Paris region, on the 6, 7 and 8 June are known:
the new recruits of the French team will face up to the world’s best riders during the 11 classes
including the Grand Prix, which will be held on Sunday 8 June at 3.00 p.m. It is a qualifier for the
Beijing Olympic Games and the 2009 European Championships for senior riders.

Among the rising stars of French show jumping, we have noted the presence of Timothée Anciaume,
3rd in the Grand Prix and 1st  in the Nations Cup at the Gijòn***** International Show Jumping
Competition (Spain) with Jarnac ; Eugénie Angot, 5th in the Grand Prix at the CSI-W (the Netherlands),
a stage of the World Cup Circuit  with Ilostra Dark ; Inès de Balanda, 1st in the Grand Prix at the
Bethune *** International Show  Jumping Competition with Kikuyu du Coty; Pénélope Leprevost,
1st in the Grand Prix at La Courneuve*** International Show Jumping Competition with Mylord Carthago;
Thomas Rousseau, 1st in the Grand Prix at the  Le Mans* International Show Jumping
Competition with La Luna du Thot - Jérôme Debas-Montagner, 1st  in the Grand Prix at the La
Bagnaia**** International Show Jumping Competition (Italy) with Idem de B’Neville
who will be supervised by "established" riders such as Eric Navet, World Champion in team
event and Vice-World Champion individually; Jean-Marc Nicolas, 5th in the Grand Prix of the
Fontainebleau** International Show Jumping Competition with JPC Modesto and  Edouard Coupérie...

The following foreign riders will also be present: Michael Whitaker, British, the 10th best rider in
the world; Beat Mandli, Swiss, the 18th best rider in the world; Kristof Cleeren, Belgian the 23rd
best rider in the world; Pius Schwizer, Swiss, the 42nd best rider in the world; Peter Wylde, American,
the 53rd best rider in the world ; Philippe Le Jeune, Belgium, the 79th  best rider in the world;
Cameron Hanley, Irish, the 85th best rider in the world; Georgina Bloomberg, American, the 121st
best rider in the world

The Franconville International Show Jumping Competition is free of charge and on Saturday
evening after the six-bar competition, Lorenzo, a specialist of the "Hungarian Post", a vaulting
figure, where he stands atop a pair of horses, with one foot on each horse, will perform his
equestrian show "Lorenzo Action". There will also be a spectacular firework display which
will be orchestrated by Groupe F an internationally renowned company which created
the firework show for the closing ceremony of the Athens Olympic Games.

6, 7, 8 June 2008: Franconville International Show Jumping Competition
The Grand Prix is a qualifier for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
and for the 2009 European Championships

The Franconville Show Jumping competition, which is now in its 23rd year of existence, will be an
international event. It will be classed as a CSI****, a 4-star  international show jumping competition
on a scale which does not exceed 5 stars, that brings together the best French, English, German,
Swiss, Irish, Dutch and Brazilian riders There promises to be a great deal of competition and
it will be a top-level event.

The elite of the equestrian world is expected for these three days of competition in the exceptional
setting which is provided by the Bois des Eboulures: 50 hectares of land which have been specially
fitted out, 8 of which will be used for the competition ground, with an exhibitors’ village, hospitality
boxes and 3,000 places in the stands, which are available to spectators free of charge.

A qualifying event for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
The 11 classes, will take place over three days and will finish with the Grand Prix organised on
Sunday 8 June, which is a qualifier for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
and for the 2009 European Championships.

There will be two shows on Saturday night: firstly, Lorenzo will present his new equestrian show
“Lorenzo Action”. He is a specialist of the “Hungarian Post”, a vaulting figure, where he stands atop
a pair of horses, with one foot on each horse. Secondly, there is a firework show organised
by “Groupe F”, who were responsible for the firework shows in Paris, London and for
the Athens Olympic Games...
